Addiction…

This is a very touching video and the words hit so close to my heart. The words are poignant and cause my heart to stop, my eyes to water and my soul to flutter.

There is NO other situation I can think of that causes a “Mother,” to feel so helpless, desperate and hopeless. Then to witness addiction consume their child…

“…Can not make you drink the water (of sobriety)…”

As Mother’s we want to shield our children, tend to their wounds, keep them safe and out of harms way… This disease is slow, painful, and heart-wrenching… To cringe each time the phone rings, suspecting it to be the “dreaded phone call” or the twisted joy and relief to hear that they are safe in a jail, or to finally hear the haunting voice of your child, similar in retrospect, but sadly the voice of a stranger… Then, soon as the call is over, the instant return of despair, hopelessness, and sadness as your heart jumps back into your throat questioning; Will I ever hear his voice again? Will I ever see him again? Lord, help me! Help, calm my heart, stop the tears, and keep my child safe…

This video is dedicated to those who have lost their battle with Addiction and to those who still struggle… Please remember… Charles CurtoCharles Anthony Curto Jr. …We ‘re all still missing you back where you came from!

Somebody’s Someone…(lyrics)

Yeah
Well I could spare 20 if I knew you were using it to get just what you need.
Oooo oooooo ooooo
I’m just another cold shoulder.
Oooo oooo oooo
You’re somebody’s brother, somebody’s son, somebody’s mother father, somebody’s someone.
Somebody’s missing you where ever you came from, where ever you go I hope you know, your somebody’s someone
Your somebody’s someone
Picking up the phone who is it gonna be this time?
It’s the sound of your voice but it ain’t really you on the line.
When you gonna come out on the otherside?
Well it’s only you cause you know no matter what we do there’s nothing we can do no matter how hard we try.
Oooo oooo oooo
Can’t make you drink that water
Oooo oooo oooo
Your somebody’s brother, somebody’s son, somebody’s mother father, somebody’s someone.
Somebody’s missing you,
Where ever you came from, where ever you go i hope you know, your somebody’s someone.
Your somebody’s someone
And I will lose you time and time again, but I will be there with you until the end.
Cause your my only brother, your my mothers son, and I’m still your little sister.
Somebody’s someone. We’re all still missing you back where you came from.
Where ever you go we hope you know,
Your somebody’s someone, your somebody’s someone.
Your somebody’s someone, your somebody’s someone.
Bright light on the corner of a dark street.
